Giving Back to the Community
Barney’s Pharmacy has served the Augusta community for over 50 years. Lisa Holliday, DME Specialist at Barney’s Pharmacy, emphasized the importance of supporting neighbors and building on long-standing relationships. “We’ve been in the community for over 50 years, and we have a lot of established relationships that are throughout this community. And we like to call on our neighbors and have them come out and help educate and just provide services to our neighbors,” Holliday shared.
Encouraging Education and Participation
Holliday also stressed the significance of reaching out to the community with vital health and wellness information. “It’s important for us to reach out to our community, educate and help them with their health and wellness, and let them know that this is your local hometown pharmacy. And we really like you to come see us. It’s going to be a big thing that we’re going to have some food and fun. And we just hope that you and your family come out and get educated. And if you have never been here, you’ll be very shocked about all the things that we do.”
Highlighting Community Wellness Initiatives
The health fair event aligns with broader goals of promoting community wellness by providing access to free health services, information on suicide prevention and stroke prevention, and empowering residents to take proactive steps in their health journey. The event also gives residents a chance to connect with local healthcare providers and learn more about the resources available in their area.
